Working Example

Let's say you want to draw the random number to raffle a prize. There are 30 people who take part in the raffle, but only three will win. The prizes range from 1 to 150. Therefore, the lower Limit is one and the Upper Limit will be 150. Press Enter and you will see that the random number generator gives you a number between 7, 36 and 2.

Decimal Trouble

Imagine you're trying to discover a number that is between 2.01 and 2.5. You enter 2.01 as the Lower Limit and 2.5 as your upper limit. You click Enter You get 2. It's not in your range of values! Sorry, there's no decimals that can be used for this random number generator. However, as long as you're working within decimals of the same whole number you can use different whole numbers for your two numbers, and assign the result after the decimal.

So if your range is between 2.01 and 2.5 You can enter 1 and 50 into the value boxes. Let's say the range generates 25. number 25. You could assign that following your decimal. And this would be your result: 2.25
